No Brickbats Today!

After saying so many (richly-deserved) negative things about the Ontario education system, here at long last is something positive (also richly-deserved). It concerns a dedicated teacher who went the extra mile and transformed a child’s life. So here’s a tribute to all the wonderful, caring teachers out there who are succeeding despite the obstacles placed in their way by the Blob.

“Fifteen years ago, the teacher gave up her lunch and recess breaks to work one-on-one with the shy Scarborough student. The girl struggled with reading books normally used by much younger students”

A good news story for sure—this is definitely what teaching as a profession and vocation is all about.  (Wonder how this teacher managed despite things like ‘work to rule’ and green ribbons?)  Bravo to both teacher and student!

Total concurrence, Doretta! Just one shining example of why teaching is the best profession going that effects change and makes a great difference in ones’ lives. Kudos.
